Sun, wind and Wadden Sea – the Archipelago of Sinan

One of the five largest tidal flat areas in the world lies along the coast of Korea. The Sinan region, with its more than a thousand islands, is known above all among Koreans for its subtropical summers, picturesque sunsets, unique tidal landscapes and the treasures of the sea. The daily life of the island communities, shaped by the rhythm of the tides, yields no shortage of stories. Among the many notable figures born in Sinan, a painter came into the world in 1913 who is now regarded as a pioneer of abstract art in Korea, and whose works today command record prices at international auction. Bodo Hartwig invites you along for the journey.
